summer skirt

I found this cute skirt over at MADE and I just had to make one for my daughter. It is the perfect skirt for the summer and so easy to make.
I adjusted the pattern by adding a few more inches to each piece to make it bigger. This pattern is easy to make smaller or bigger as needed.  Click here for the complete set of instruction by Dana from MADE. A great skirt for spinning.

welcome spring

It does not feel very much like spring in our neighborhood where we are still seeing snow on a regular basis. So I have been working on a few projects that will remind us that spring is coming even if it is only inside our house.
I got these blocks from Morrow Wood, added some paint and spring paper, and set them on a shelf in my office. I felt happier and more excited for the new season just by looking at them even though the world just outside the window was filled with huge fluffy snowflakes.

sidewalk chalk and muddy piggies

Nothing says SPRING like sidewalk chalk and sandles with muddy toes. I am sure I am not alone when I say, I love spring! Sidewalk chalk is so simple and fun. Here are a few ideas and games.
Classic Hopscotch and variations
Life Size Art - Lay down, trace your body, then add clothes, hats, accessories, etc.
Animal Footprints - What would the footprint of a heffalump look like?
Welcome Home - Make Daddy a giant welcome home sign.
Sidewalk Town - Create a town with roads, stop signs, school, store, hospital, church, playground, etc. Make it small for little cars or large for bikes and scooters.
Hop to the Spot - Draw letters, numbers, or shapes. Someone calls one out and everyone hops to it.
Draw an obstacle course
Create a connect the dot picture

Happy SPRING everyone!!
